Coastal outdoor surfaces ask a lot of the materials specified. The right choice survives a decade of UV, salt and rain looking better, not worse.
20mm porcelain pavers are our default specification for outdoor terraces — UV stable, P5 slip rated, freeze-thaw resistant. Honed travertine remains a beautiful choice for pool surrounds when sealed correctly.
Avoid polished surfaces outdoors, avoid low-fired ceramic and avoid grouts not rated for exterior use. Always specify falls and drains before tile selection.
